Windout Magazine: Irina Pavlovic "The Soulful Heritage" di Giuseppe Maggioli

Classy hard boppers, Irina Pavlovic (piano, Fender Rhodes) surprises us with this delightful album. In her, jazz, ideas like Kurt Elling, Tommy Flanagan and sumptuous cool harmonies coexist in a highly original blend, always in search of further expressionism. He lands in the fantastic stable of A.Ma Records (Antonio Martino's futurejazz label) silently playing melodic, bright and joyful lines. The Serbian pianist's ten original compositions are intertwined with rich blue tones augmented by modal flights, all shimmering and swinging with Pavlovic's expressive touch on piano and sound designer in the style of Rudy Van Gelder. The central focus of the work? The dry parables of Arriba, Arriba and the sensual aesthetics of Look Above and Let Me Not Forget. While Pavlovic and trumpeter Ivan Radivojevic  search for the infinite in jazz on Reviving exchange lead lines, riffs, phrases, a second chorus and solos. Without a doubt a wonderful effort. He gracefully shares the spotlight with the fantastic Rastko Obradovic (Tenor Saxophone), Corey Wilcox (Trombone) and the incredible Milan Nikolic on double bass. With their fantastic grooves and lively improvisations, the pianist creates a work that is decidedly surprising for its flexibility and sense of balance. A regular performer at Central European and Balkan jazz festivals, Irina is an arranger who brings together all her musicianship, performing experiences and influences in the mazes of The Soulful Heritage. Excellent and highly recommended.
